Still at same 0.89 p price, plan was keep it going if same price, but if price went up stop
@Garethgerry – you git!! 😁 I’ve got about 1.4m left now and was going to stop at the end of the year. It’s almost £4k/year for my wife and I, but she keeps spending them….. AMEX 241 and Barclays vouchers make it impossible to stop.
Same here – including 200k of MR reward points yet to be transferred I have just shy of 2 million Avios. I was thinking about cancelling the sub before it renews soon (at the old rate) – despite the clearly good value you can achieve when paying 0.89p each and redeeming. Now clearly by the time I actually spend the last half of that Avios stash, or any newly purchase Avios, it will likely be 5 or so years down the line and there is a risk (guarantee) of some form of devaluation during that period – but so long as it broadly tracks flight ticket price inflation over the long term (it might be a 30% devaluation over night, but if the previous one was 10 years ago you could argue it’s a 30% change over 10 years etc.) then am I mad to keep paying the annual 200k sub?!
Have more Holidays
Have you been talking to my wife?? 🤣 I guess there might be some devaluation @PB2 but I don’t expect a lot. British people won’t put up with some of the stunts USA airlines pull.
Avios – especially in the EU – gives a lot of flexibility for last minute flights/changes. And travelling F/J long-haul is a lot cheaper. Pass the syringe.
