I currently use the BA Amex Premium Plus for a mix of personal use and business use (about 60/40%). I’ve received the letter from Amex about the changes to T&Cs and it states
‘we’ll clarify that the card is for personal use and not to be used for business purposes’
and so I’m concerned they could close my card if they inspected the spend. Should I be separating off my business spend, and if so, which card would you recommend. It’s about £25k-£40k per year.
I also need to get a separate card for fuel, about £8k-£10k per year.
Recommendations please!
You have arguably been committing fraud by using your personal card for business spend, because all of those purchases have received Section 75 insurance coverage which the law reserves for B2C transactions.
You have also been costing Amex money, because it charges substantially higher fees to shops on its business cards than its personal cards.
If you have a Limited Company we’ve got a Capital On Tap offer launching on Monday.
