Hi – I am trying to book a open jaw BA Amex companion voucher with Iberia. MAD-SCL out is already booked. I called BAEC to add the return EZE-MAD. However, to add the EZE-MAD leg to my existing booking, BA wants 100k avios plus 900£ in taxes! If I look online it should only be 51000k and 200£ for a return. So it seems like the BA and Iberia systems are not talking to each other properly yet… Any suggestions?
If you have a look at Rob’s various articles on redeeming avios on BA v IB, you’ll see that there are large discrepancies in the cash elements – unfortunately if you want to use the companion voucher you are stuck with BA’s fees.
Perhaps there’s a problem with Open Jaws at the moment.
