-
Hi all,
I had to call BA to amend an Avios reward booking at the weekend (removing the domestic internal leg as we are now flying from Heathrow).
The flights have been updated in BA manage my booking page but I have not been issued with an email confirmation of the updated flights, nor has the £35 pp amendment fee been taken.
Should I be worried or can I take the updated flight itinerary within MMB as confirmation – we fly out on Monday
Definitely worth calling BA to check as I assume the ammendment will lead to new tickets being issued. Without confirmation you may risk being turned away at the airport.
I recently amended a 241 booking to upgrade one leg of the trip and the ba agent insisted that i call if I did not get an email confirming the change.
When I did this, there were two parts.
The call to change the booking. This is reflected in manage my booking almost straight away.
The second part behind the scenes is the change gets sent to a back office team who have to ‘reissue the tickets’. This is when the charge happens and the email gets sent to you confirming (effectively) reissuance of tickets.
The second part absolutely needs to be done according to the exceptional BA customer service rep I eventually had the fortune to reach who kept on top of this for me, so if I were you, keep chasing.
It took me weeks to get it sorted out because my credit card expired in the time it took them to try and charge it – I couldn’t speak to them directly so had to go through call centre middle men who kept taking my new card details down wrong somehow until I got through to someone who was really good at their job and saw it through to the end.
Fortunately it was months until my travel date, but I’d be nervous about imminent travel.
Can you see a ticket number beginning 125 in MMB? Have you tried entering the PNR on the Finnair website and getting an e-ticket receipt? If the booking has been amended you should see the ticket number. If not definitely call BA
Had the same issue recently. Took them 4 days to amend. As the previous post said what you need is the ticket number to show in the app.
Agent told us it could take up to a week depending on how busy that department was. Thanks all,
Been calling them every day since and all I get is that it should be done within 24 hrs and that it will definitely be issued before our flight out on Monday, as they prioritising bookings for earlier departures.
Major IT glitch at the weekend apparently and my card payment for the £35pp reward amendment fee wasn’t processed (despite the agent confirming over the phone that it was successful).
That’s BA’s IT for you
