Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA bag drops outside the UK

I arrived at Oslo airport 4 hours early and of course the BA desk was not opened, fat too early.

This got me wondering. Could I of tagged the hold luggage myself and dropped it at another airlines self service bag drop?

My reasoning was that surely all bags go to the same type of area either immediate boarding or the wait area and the computer system will treat all bags the same regardless of what bag drop airline you use.

My wife was too nervous and we didn’t do it BUT would it have worked?

    Just curious.

The bar code may have highlighted that it wasn’t that airlines bag and just not have accepted the bag.

So it let you print the bag tag even though the correct bag drop wasn’t open? Does BA have a dedicated self bag drop or is it shared? Only way to find out is to try.

Didn’t try to print the bag drop tag as I couldn’t see a reason why it wouldn’t work. BA did have a bag drop by their check in desk but it was closed.

Richie. The other airlines bad drop was unmanned. You could just drop your bag on to the belt as the was not an option to scan at that point. The bags just disappeared.

Still just wondering if it would of worked for future reference.
