BA codeshare with Vistara from DEL to KTM. Vistara are selling PE but BA say not

Hi All,
Tried calling BA but obviously they are refusing to take new sales calls at present. I am looking to book a flight later this year from LON to KTM via DEL with BA to DEL and Vistara from DEL to KTM. I am looking to book it as a Premium Economy flight but when I go through the booking process they downgrade me to Economy for the DEL to KTM flight because there is “no premium economy” on that flight. Vistara however are selling Premium Economy tickets on the same flight if I booked that standalone with them. I realise its a short flight so not the end of the world either way but does anyone have experience of such contradictory information and am I likely to end up in PE or Economy? Any insight would be welcome please.

It books into economy (fare class H) so that is where you’ll be sat. Not sure why, something to do with fares and booking classes and mapping somewhere, had a poke around on ITA matrix but can’t see why!

There’s something odd about Vistara fares in general. When I looked, the Premium Economy standard/basic fares were cheaper than the Economy standard/basic. So I don’t know if you are relying on a connection, but if not, does it work booking separately?

yeah i saw PE is cheaper. I may end up buying them separately as there’s about 5hrs between flights but just trying to avoid a bit of extra hassle I guess. All very strange.
