BA flight HND-LHR cancelled New flight NRT-HKG then HKG-LHR

Just a quick follow up to this, put a claim in for compensation and expenses with BA on 20th April, they paid out £1,040 for the outward delay (20 hours), they paid out £1,040 for the inward cancellation and over £500 for all but one expenses incurred. With no fuss at all. They won’t pay for a day use hotel we booked in Singapore but I thought it might be a stretch when adding it.

Payments (2.5k) received in bank on 11th May so fairly swift.

Have put a separate complaint in to try and recoup some avios and money back for the return leg being swapped form direct to a connecting but no word on that yet.

Have just paid in a claim for delayed luggage and expenses as the bags took 3 days to arrive back after missing a connection back with us.

Claimed for a couple of hotels on travel insurance but no word back yet.

Also got tier point for the amended flights from LHR-SIN, NRT-HKG and HKG-LHR so that’s given me over 300. Happy days.

But you were supposed to get £520 for kids as well, so double the amount you were given. The fact that the seats were paid with 241 doesn’t mean anything. They weren’t free, BA is trying it on here.

No, misunderstanding I think. Kids were in UK not with us so only 2 seats.
