I’ve a flight from Atlanta at the end of the month that appears to be flying into T3 at LHR which I didn’t notice, is that unusual?? I thought all BA flights used T5 ..it’s BA0226.
Presumably I would need to go thru border at T3 then collect all my gear and lug it to T5 to get my flight to Edinburgh?
No need to pick up bags with a connecting flight.
Your bags will move automatically.
You will take a bus from T3 to T5 and will pass passport control there.
No it’s not unusual. A number of BA flights operate to / from T3.
If these flight are on separate tickets you will need to clear the UK border in T3, collect your bags and then make your way to T5
If on one ticket your bags should be checked through and you can use the airside transit route.
Okay thanks, yes it’s a connecting flight to EDI, same ticket.
Phew 🙂
You’ve clearly missed all the discussion about how good the T3 lounges are – sometimes people actually pick their destinations based on this 😂
Sadly if you have lounge access and are only doing the inbound leg, you’ll be stuck with the current T5 offering (unless you can go in the F lounge or CCR).
