I have a Companion voucher to use sometime before July 24. I have been having a look around to see what is on offer. i see there is currently a ‘Premium’ Sale on the BA website. When fares go on sale, does the number of Avios required also get reduced if booking using companion voucher. Or does the number of Avios stay the same (so in a way, the pence per avios value is reduced)?
My experience is that it was reduced but the last time I have done so (Avios booking during sales)was before COVID. NB it normally only applies to specific routes/dates even if there is a general sale around
The avios will only change if there is an avios redemtion sale.
There isn’t dynamic pricing like there is with many hotel programmes where points will change depending on the cash price.
The sale is for cash bookings – you can’t combine them with a companion voucher booking, even if there’s the option to reduce the cash price with avios.
