BAEC tier points while flying Qatar

Hi All,
I recently flew Qatar after a few years of flying only BA. I thought if I enter the BA exec number while booking I would get the tier points added to my BAEC, instead I got them added to my Privilege club. When I called Qatar customer care they said this is how it is.
Can anyone please share how to ensure this does not happen in the future and two if I can get this fixed for this trip ?

QR has a particular issue with changing FF numbers or populating the correct field(s). If you successfully entered your BAEC details it may only have been entered in FFN for the benefits whereas your QPC number has been left in the FQTV field for accumulation of miles/points. It is theoretically possibly to ask QR to renounce its claim and deduct any points/miles but it is discretionary. If you were able to do this successfully, you could then claim both from BA.
