Barclaycard customer services just told me (after being put on hold for 30 mins while they communicated with a ‘specialist team’) that the Avios will go over to BAEC in June, as “it takes 3 months to transfer”.
I presume the ‘specialist team’ are getting confused over the SUB and Avios earnt from monthly spend.

I had a 45 minute “chat” in the app which consisted entirely of answers copied and pasted from the card Ts and Cs which weren’t even relevant to what I was asking about. We ended up complaining in writing and Barclays were actually very quick to respond with a refund of the first month’s fee and £25 “goodwill”. They still don’t seem to know why the spend tracker for the SUB isn’t moving though!

Two phone calls of around 45 minutes each today to try and get my Avios moved across.
This in addition to an unsuccessful 50 minute call last night.
The staff are really unfamiliar with this card and the associated t&cs.
The ‘specialist teams’ at Barclaycard are telling the phone agents (through chat) that no Avios is due for anyone until June.
I have tried to explain on the phone calls to different people that the SUB and the monthly spend are separate entities, but it looks like it is all being treated as one bunch of Avios for transfer in June sometimes.

I am shocked how little training they seem to have with this new card.
When you consider the huge amount of datapoints provided since last month by several people, it is clear that Barclaycard have really messed up with this card.

I have raised a formal complaint.

Thanks for the mention, but I am nobody’s “shill”. I’m genuinely sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered with the new card. However, Barclaycard says it will transfer the points on the second working day of the month (i.e. Monday 4 April/yesterday) but doesn’t say when they will arrive. I think waiting at least until the end of the week for the Avios to land in your BAEC account would be normal and fair, so I’m not sure why you have wasted so much time calling them today.

Rob has told us today that not too far from 90% of people have been accepted and a great many people, including me, have received their cards promptly, been able to activate and use them in multiple environments, add them to Curve etc. without difficulty. Of course, the rejected and small number of people who have experienced difficulties have made and continue to make more noise than the satisfied; c’est la vie. Where people have genuine issues (rather than a non delay in Avios transfer) those issues seem to be being resolved by a call to BC.

It is clear that HfP/Rob and his team have spent a lot of time with a new Avios credit card provider to bring us a superlative new product, but any new launch, however well planned inevitably has glitches. It is grossly unfair to blame or run to HfP to resolve basic day to day issues that are encountered with every card provider; hence my original post that led to your “shill” comment…

Some gratitude, courtesy and direct resolution of issues with the provider would seem more productive than general whingeing.

Mine transferred this morning, with the welcome bonus too.

The app shows them as pending still… But our Avios for March spend arrived today.

It’s titled “Collection” rather than “Finance Card” like Amex.

Just dropped in my BA account the earned Avios + bonus from Barclaycard . So although the App gives zero information re earned Avios it’s good to know the transfer occurred automatically.

Mine arrived this morning including the 25000 bonus .

Mine have arrived today, I just think their customer service are useless and don’t know what’s happening.

My regular points moved over from Barclaycard, but the welcome bonus (which I hit over the weekend) hasn’t budged.

That makes sense if you hit the target on or after 1 April as they transfer the points by calendar month, so points earned in March are supposed to be transferred on the second working day of April, and are seemingly arriving in BAEC accounts now. Your April ones, including welcome bonus should arrive at the beginning of May.

I think you’re right. In the Barclays app there is a summary of avios earned for each month within the transactions list. The amount of avios earned for March matches the amount transferred today.

So it’s avios earned in a billing statement that get transferred on the second working day of the month (or any other random working day after that).

No, it’s Avios earned in a calendar month that are transferred (at least that’s what it says) so usually not aligned with the statement date (mine is 16th). This is different to Amex who usually transfer them a few days before your statement date, irrespective of when it falls in the month.

Re the ‘random’ day, it does seem likely that Barclaycard could have initiated the transfer on the second working day and they have taken two days to arrive…

I have now received my Barclaycard points in my BA account this morning. However I hold both the Avios Plus and the Barclays Premier Account and have not received the £5 rebate in my premier account on the monthly fee. Has anyone received this?

    Aston100 1,388 posts

Got called by Barclays in regards to the complaint I raised about Avios not moving across to BAEC.
Got told (again – this is the 3rd time now) that the Avios will be transferred in June. They don’t seem to understand the difference between the SUB and the monthly spend.
The agent was very unsure of themselves and was clearly reading out a copy & paste statement.
Have asked for it to be escalated.

Avios from my BA Barclaycard Plus have landed in my BA account today.

Strangely enough, my Barclaycard still have X amount of “Pending Barclays Avios” showing in my Barclays app. It seems like it takes a while for them to update the figure.

    Yup, exactly the same here.

The misleading bit is where it says “Pending Barclaycard Avios” and shows all those earned to date, spanned across multiple billing cycles.

But under ‘Avios you’ve collected with us’, it still shows 0.

I hope they change this to reflect Avios earned for a single billing cycle. At the moment, I have 50% more avios showing here than was transferred (presumably from pending transactions that cleared after the transfer).

For me, the “Avios you’ve collected with us” section shows a figure that presumably is from the total Avios transferred from my Barclays Premier account. However, upon further inspection, it certainly seems like the Barclaycard Avios are not yet reflected.

@u07ch – very good point! It’s also worth noting that it says the transfers are for Avios earned in a particular calendar month, not per statement. “All Avios (including any promotional or bonus Avios) that you’ve accrued in a calendar month will be transferred to your BAEC account on the second working day of the following month.”

Which would suggest Avios accrued in March would transfer by 4 April…

Transfer by, not necessarily arrive by as pointed out by @u07ch above.

Has anyone else’s Avios count stopped updating since March 24?. I’ve just checked my activity page and only points up till the 24th has been transferred, and nothing since then is showing up on the count nor bonus tracker.

My SUB tracker didn’t start moving until about 2 weeks after I first spent on the card so there’s a definite glitch.

Lots of complaints last month about Avios not posting in a timely manner. Surprised (or maybe not) to see no positive comments this month with them posting yesterday, 3 May, the first working day of the month. Well done Barclaycard for getting things back on track.
