Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Barclays sign up offer vonus coming this year?

    Hi,

I cancelled my Barclays Credit Card (Platinum) back in December and now qualify to sign up for the Avios Premium Card to trigger the bonus. Unfortunately I missed the last bonus of 50k, as I didnt quite qualify just yet for it (6 month waiting). Do we envision another lucrative sign up offer to come around this year?

Also just comparing which Premier Bank account to get. Contemplating between HSBC, Barclays or some of the other packaged bank accounts (Halifax, Virgin or Nationwide). What is your take?

    Cheers

There was a 50k offer in June last year.

Then there was the 100k offer in October, which was tied to Premier banking and Avios Rewards.

And now, the latest 50k offer has just finished.

As I’m quite patient, I personally would not sign up to a card without an enhanced bonus, especially as now they seem to be fairly regular, but of course it depends on your circumstances. With Amex (I know this is BC), there seems to be a new enhanced bonus available as soon as one finishes on another card! Case in point, the Plat offer finished, and now there’s an enhanced bonus on Gold.

I just wish BC offered referral bonuses!

I upgraded to Barclays Premier for the October offer, and have not really looked into other accounts as I have been with Barclays over 20 years, so can’t comment there.

Premier bank accounts are different from packaged accounts. Get a packaged one only if you really cannot get a better deal elsewhere for your requirements. HSBC or Barclays premier have strict eligibility but don’t require you to buy products.

I wouldn’t recommend Barclays Premier. Have a read of the last two pages of the ‘have you received your 100,000 avios’ thread and you’ll see why.

Just saw the following on moneysavingexpert: Get a boosted 35,000 Avios (usually 25,000) if you apply via our links by 17 July.

But i guess some more lucrative deals will come later in the year.
