I currently have a 0% Barclaycard platinum card but I have not owned any avios card before. In this scenario would I still be eligible for the 25000 bonus points, and if not how long would I have to wait after I cancel my platinum card?
Well technically you’re not supposed to be able to hold more than one Barclaycard at once but a few people seem to have bypassed the system. I imagine if you got accepted, you’d probably get the bonus, but I don’t think anyone could say for certain!
If as an existing customer you switch to your first Avios card you get the 5K bonus, as advertised in the app ‘Change to a different card’ section.
If you cancel and wait six months, then reapply as a new customer you get the 25K, subject to acceptance which of course is not guaranteed.
