On the seat map 6A is open and 6B isn’t. I expect it may be held in case it’s needed for a baby and bassinet. Is there a way to see if this seat is actually booked? And is there a specific time it would show up if it is free, ie exactly 24 hours before the flight?

They normally open up at T-24 if they’re still free, but IME if the flight is busy, BA will have already allocated it to someone else by that point.
