Barclays Premier account bonus question

Sorry i know this is not the correct section but think i will get a good response here.

Anyone opened the premier account for the 100k points got the extra 25k points for opening and transferring main bank account to them? It shows on my avios section in the BC app but no date next to it so has not been paid as yet but its been there for 2 avios to BAEC payment cycles.

Just want to establish if i should wait or call them about it

Isn’t it paid after the fourth month of opening Avios Rewards on the Premier account, so in the fifth cycle.

To qualify for the 25,000 Avios joining bonus, you’ll need to join Barclays Avios Rewards – within 4 months of opening your first Barclays current account. Then, you’ll need to complete a full switch of your old current account to us, using the Current Account Switch Service – within 3 months of joining Barclays Avios Rewards. You will then receive your joining bonus in the fourth month of Barclays Avios Rewards membership.

You are doing better than me, I have completely all the steps as outlined by JDB (except it has only been about 2 months) but it doesn’t show anywhere in my app.

Thanks JDB, wasn’t sure if the 4 month rule was just for the 100k but thanks for confirming.

@Reney I see it on the Barcley’s app when i select ‘see your activity’ you can slide to the ‘avios rewards’ tab where it shows the 1500 monthly avios points (plus my 25k pending).

Can anyone clarify…

I opened a BC Premier account for my father in the last few days of the 100k Avios offer. My understanding is you need to complete the switch within 3 months and activate Avios Rewards before the 4th month. I have set up Avios Rewards today and am processing the current account switch.

But I have just seen the Barclays website states…

If you were eligible for our offer, here’s what happens next.
You’ll need to have done the following between 3 October and 30 November 2022

– Opened a Barclaycard Avios Plus card
– Switched on Barclays Avios Rewards1 in your Premier Banking2 or Personal Wealth Current account
– Kept both products for 4 months

So it implies I needed to have activated Avios Rewards by the 30th November!! Anyone recieved the 100k and avtivated Avios Rewards after that date?!

Yes, the key was to open Avios Rewards during the ‘Qualifying Period’ not just the Premier Account – per the terms:-

“When you’ll be eligible for the Avios Bonus
You will be eligible for the Avios Bonus when you hold a Barclaycard Avios Plus card and Barclays Avios Rewards, provided that you open or join one or both of those products during the Qualifying Period. You’ll still be eligible if you open or join them by switching from another product during the Qualifying Period.
You must also continue to hold both products for four months from the date of the product you’ve opened or joined most recently.
It doesn’t matter which product you open or join first, or if you already hold one product prior to the Qualifying Period.”
