I am keen to use my Virgin upgrade voucher on a trip to New York and Boston next March. There seems to be decent availability so it is unlikely to sell out. I also know we don’t know what dynamic pricing will look like – but what are people’s instincts? Would it be better to book now and or wait and see?
I’d book now — cancellation is only £ 30 and the new system could be drastically better or worse for points or cash for your dates. Feels like a win-win opportunity to me, lock in current pricing and see what happens.
If this is to be believed and the average redemption will be the same as it is today then there will be some flights lower than today’s prices under a dynamic pricing model. New York and Boston generally have loads of availbility so may be routes that could benefit from lower prices.
That’s a big “if” though and £30 cancellation fee is not a lot if you want to avoid the risk.
