Hi, I had thought to try using virgin points on flights with ITA after an article highlighting it here from July, but I can’t seem to get it to work. The flight search options don’t seem to allow you to put in routes that ITA flies but virgin doesn’t (London to anywhere in Italy for instance). Any one else have any difference in their experience?
I tried because I’m waiting for Waitrose and no problem here.
When you input the destination, are you clicking on “full airport list” and selecting Rome from there?
I checked 12th March (as a random date) for LHR-FCO and it is showing direct flights with ITA that day.
Whether it lets you book online I.E. without calling is another question!
When I looked at the ‘full airport list’, after putting in Lon in the origin, it gave no options, just blank. I will try again using another device.
Try using the Full Airport List for each side of the equation, which usually works. ITA flies from LHR and LCY, but I have a suspicion that LON won’t work (even if it should).
Virgin website is nothing if temperamental.
When I did it, LHR was pre-populated as the origin so that could make the difference.
