Brisbane – car hire

We need to book car hire for 5 days at the end of our trip to Australia. Does anyone have any car hire company recommendations please? I have had a look at some prices and we can hire a polestar for considerably less than a standard medium saloon. Does anyone know how easy it is to find recharging points? We are only going as far as Noosa and back with a couple of small deviations on the way. Thanks for any advice. I have the Amex platinum card so have the insurance covered.

If you don’t mind a shuttle transfer off-airport try Apex, this is my go to company in Australia and NZ. Generally cheaper than the worldwide chains, and after one rental, they may give you a personalised unlimited 10% off website prices (maybe indefinitely)

They didn’t care about minor scratches though to be fair Hertz didn’t care either the last times I used them in 2018. I know you said you have Amex but you still have to deal with the admin.

Hi Jess. I’ll just speak of my own experience. Just over a week today, I”ve booked Avis from Brisbane Airport and taking it as far as Noosa also.
It looks to be easily accessible and looked to be a competitive price (although I could be proven wrong)

My suggestion would be https://bargaincarrentals.com.au/ – decent prices and you can usually find a code online for an additional 5% off. You should be fine going electric to Noosa, and there looks to be a decent number of chargers out that way (https://electricvehiclecouncil.com.au/a-z-charging/).

I need Brisbane car hire in Sept and was looking at this site last week. Much cheaper than everywhere else but I was put off by a couple of dodgy reviews and lack of free amendments or cancellations.
