Cancel outbound but retain return?

Please can someone advise if it is possible to cancel the outbound leg of a BA flight, booked with Avios but retain the return leg.

Short answer – no

Long answer – if you cancel the whole booking the seats may go straight back into inventory for Avios and be available for you to rebook one-way… not guaranteed of course.

To add … if BA cancels your outbound flight then you can (and probably should) ring them to specifically get your return flight ‘protected’ from cancellation automatically. You can’t do this with a voluntary cancellation.
