Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Cancellation of one Avios ticket out a few

Apologies if this is obvious- we are a family of five, household account but the three “children” all in 20’s with unpredictable lives. If I book all five RFS tickets on the same booking would I be able to cancel/change just one ticket separately (without phoning) or should I book all three “children’s” tickets separately for ease/cheapness of possible cancellation? I would rather book all together as myself and OH are silver so can select seats for all (?) but think it unlikely everyone will end up being available.

    Just book all together

Then closer to the time if need be you can call and ask for any bloody ungrateful cost centres to be split off to a separate PNR which you can cancel.
    (You will need to phone)
Don’t try the I’ve booked this so you are coming – it doesn’t work

If you book everyone on one booking and then one of them decides not to go you can call and have them split off the PNR and given their own which can then be changed / cancelled as appropriate and paying the fees.

If you book them as separate tickets then your silver benefits such as seat selection and extra baggage wont extend to them.

As far as BA are concerned these are adults. Calling them “children” will only confuse.

We had this situation last year with 2 adult children but no household account. Don’t know if this makes a difference. I had made initial booking and didn’t want to split booking unless necessary as other members of family only have bronze status. I rang BA to discuss and they suggested I give one of the “children” authority over my account, which would mean they could call BA if necessary to split the PNR if I were unable to make contact (OH and I were travelling around Oz immediately before family booking).
