Hi
I have a new Curve account.
I have added a debit card to it. Worked fine.
I cannot add my Barclaycard Avios to it. Does Barclaycard block this? or is the problem unique to me?
Grateful for thoughts of how to resolve this, thanks
If you want to keep the BC in the long term I would strongly recommend not linking it at all!
Have you used the card with chip & pin first? If you haven’t then you won’t be able to add the card to Curve until you have.
I’ve used the Barclaycard for a month of so. Chip and Pin, contactless etc.
I added mine before I chip and pinned it…
Me too. The only time I inserted the card somewhere was to change the PIN at an ATM.
I added mine before I chip and pinned it…
Me three.
This is something a lot of us have experienced. It’s something to do with 2FA. I had to call the fraud number and get them to authorise it while I linked it. I had the same issue with PayPal and did that at the same time. Apparently something wasn’t showing correctly in my address. A week later I had an olive transaction for £400 declined and had to call to get it authorised, same issue. They promised it should be fixed. But there are (or were) a lot of people experiencing this in one way or another. It needs to be tue fraud department. Regular CS doesn’t have a clue and can’t see the issue. Only fraud can.
Edit to add: partner’s main card linked with no issues to both Curve and PayPal.

This. I had exactly the same issue when I first received my card a couple of months ago. Every single online transaction I tried (and linking to curve) didn’t work. After several hours on the phone I eventually got through to someone knowledgeable in the fraud department who turned 2FA off for my card whilst I made the transactions I needed (incl adding to Curve), before he re-enabled it. He advised me to ensure that my next transaction was chip and pin, which I did, and I haven’t had any issues since (touch wood….)
