Can’t use CS voucher on a redemption booking?

Hi all

I got a customer service compo voucher when flying recently having been downgraded. Went to use it on a redemption booking today. Google AI suggested that was fine but I could only do so via phone, so I dutifully phoned but was told no, compo voucher can’t be used on a redemption booking. They checked with their supervisor and came back with the same answer.

Is that right? If so, it makes the voucher worthless to me as I rarely make non-redemption bookings for myself!

Yes that’s correct.

And it’s in one of the T&Cs in the email they send you.

Don’t trust those AI summaries as they often contain incorrect info because they can’t easily distinguish between the different types of voucher BA has.
