May well have been covered before, but I’ve just noticed the Platinum dining credit will renew in July. I had thought the first six months of 2025 was going to be the end of it. Happy days!

I’ve stayed at the HIX Jakarta Matraman. It’s perfectly fine, and even cheaper now (around £16) because of the exchange rate. And in 2020 I stayed three nights at the Bradford HIX for the princely sum of £52, ie about £17 per night. HIX Matraman is the better property by far.

Hilton have started to put up packages for this summer’s Wembley concerts. Just got Dua Lipa with One Twenty Club hospitality for 100,000 points. There are three packages left at time of typing.

Guns and Roses/ Lana Del Ray were sold out by the time I saw them. But there are auction packages for their concerts with a hotel night included.

Totally agree Matraman wins it for me – downside is the horrific traffic from the airport.

You are confusing it with the end of the HN credit.

That is entirely possible. I am easily confused. Silver lining though, it makes for nice surprises like this!

Wow. Those IHG nights were cheap. We stayed at HI Batam for a few nights a couple of years ago and thought £35 pn was good as we had the buffet breakfast as Diamond and were upgraded to suite which had cooking facilities. Also had large swimming pool and often we were the only ones using it.

    – we’re meeting friends on Saturday and have tickets for the Hockney exhibition on Sunday so thought it was worth paying a little extra to make the most of the weekend. Also we live in London area so easy to get home. Hope you enjoy your weekend in Brussels.

    – enjoy the Cathay Lounge. Only been there once as it’s always been full! If you’re staying in Oslo and want a nice cake or open sandwich, I often meet a friend at Halvorsens Conditori close to Parliament. Not cheap – but it’s Norway! The Oslo fjord is worth a trip if you get good weather, if not, there’s always the Munch Museum. Enjoy Norway.
