    The usual BA app problems…
    I’ve booked three one-way tickets with AA through company travel agent. All of them are registered with my BA membership number, but I can only see two of them in the app. I tried adding to BA app, but I think its an AA locator.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Morning all, Carcassonne to Biarritz today after 2 nights of sleeping in what can best be described as ‘Granny’s Attic’. Lovely view of the castle though and just outside the wall. Time to carry the luggage down three flights of narrows stairs.

    Look the booking up on AA with their locator and the BA one may show or otherwise ask your company travel agent or AA to give you the BA locator.

    Are you flying on BA or AA metal? If it is BA metal then ask AA on their chat for the BA PNR

    If you’re on AA metal then they won’t be able to be added to BA app

    @NorthernLass – I only just spotted your reply on Wednesday! My biggest tips are to read the questions carefully (time saved skim reading is not time saved, it’s marks wasted), and to not race to finish the exam – he will do far better if he double checks as he goes, and doesn’t have time to do the last question properly, than if he races to finish the exam and leaves a plethora of mistakes in his wake. Also make detailed notes on how to know which form of integration is needed for any question (integration is always the thing people struggle with the most) – with a sin squared or cos squared question – when do you use the double angle formulae and when is it a simple reverse chain rule question? How do you know which is the “suitable substitution” to use? When do you use integration by parts – what do the questions look like (especially the lnx example – that’s an important one)? Practise proof by contradiction and negating statements – this comes up loads.

    As I’ve just waffled on about something entirely unrelated to points and miles, I thought I should mention that the AMEX Berry Bros and Rudd offer is ending on 30th, and that they are absolutely brilliant for fine wines, so you can actually use the offer to buy wine in bond and have it stored in their climate controlled cellar (to make up for the totally off-topic waffle). Also, their EOC is marvellous, and an absolute steal.

    @Cat I’m cutting and pasting your top tips in preparation for June….2032 ;o))

    And my very demanding BA captain friends said a Berry Bros tasting event was the best they’ve ever been to!

    If you are on the AA site and it is BA metal, trying to select a seat usually kicks you to the BA site and exposes the BA PNR. Sticking the AA PNR in some of the usual suspect’s MMBs might save you a call too – Finnair, RJ, RAM etc

    @Cat, many thanks! (The first bit we have been imploring him to do for years plus to make better use of the extra time he gets due to his dyspraxia).

    My Amex tip is to browse the Wine Flyer website and you might suddenly get an email from them for extra avios! Plus I just found out that golds get an extra 15% off.

    Can you get one of the Amex business cards as a sole trader?

    I’ve an early flight from T2 ( 7am ) in a few months. Premier Inn on Bath Road ( and then TFL bus or rip off Hoppa ) or HGI at Hatton Cross ( first tube is 5.09 by the looks of things)? I will have a large case and pull along to manhandle as I’m off to Reykivavik via OSL to join a ship.
    Won’t be needing breakfast and will be arriving late on Monday evening with no need for parking as sailing back to Portsmouth so literally just needing a bed .Thoughts ?

    have you read yesterdays comments in the article regarding the busses around Heathrow?
    If you are not confident with the large case, then the most convenient hotel is HGI t2/t3, but that reflects in its hefty price tag.

    Agree with @yorkshireRich as convenience is king for us so if you can stomach the price HGI T2/3 works. Stayed there last year for 50k points but it now seems to be going for 70k points so we might have to rethink our plans!

    There is also the Aerotel within T2/3 terminals, never used, probably more cabin like rooms.

    Next nearest (according to Booking dot com) would be Renaissance, Ibis Styles or Radisson. TfL bus down to the terminals

    Good afternoon from the OW lounge at OSL after a quick nip over yesterday night. The Cathay lounge at T3 it isn’t! Nice decor but food and drink pretty bare bones, though what there is is tasty enough. And can’t grumble when the bread and soup, and mystery white wine I’ve had (it comes out of a tap marked white!) would probably cost £20 out in the terminal 🤣

    T4 hotels are also surprisingly an option – the H30 bus (free and with good luggage space) runs to T2/3 central bus station early in the morning. The 4.37 from T4 stance 11 goes all the way round via T5 and arrives T2 at 5.03. Timetable

    @Man of Kent, the £50 Amex cash back comes in very handy when wanting to book the T2/3 HGI! Has worked with the pre-paid rate for us for the past few years.

    @yorkshire rich yes I did ( which is why I don’t want irate a
    TFL driver yelling at me ).It’s not that I’m not confident with the case more the issue of having a spinal fracture ( which then flagged other issues ) a few years ago. T2/3HGI is 4 times the price of the Premier Inn and twice the cost of Hatton Garden HGI and all I’m needing is a bed.

    @tootsci
    I feel your pain re OSL- prices are eye watering .

    @freckles
    . Thanks -that might be a better option.

    Thanks I have £75 back on £300 spend so no good for HGI (even at their price)! We have a 3 night stay in London though next month and fortunately a Hilton will suit us best there so the Amex cash back will get used then.

    You can use it over more than 1 booking, you just have to spend that amount on the relevant card at participating Hilton properties.

    But looking at prices for next spring, unless they come down a bit I’m booking the HIX or CP at T4 and getting up a bit earlier!

    Yes you can. I got business Gold as sole trader.
    Get other half to refer you for 12k points. 45K bonus for hitting the spend and in my case 7K points for 1 transaction. Nice easy 64K points

    Thanks, @Erico.
