Morning folkes, my renewal date is 6th June, presumably the best time to try for a retention offrr is the week or so before ?
My renewal was on the 3rd May and just been offered the same 10K for 5k spend in 6 months.
Got this week the offer of 12k Avios for £3000 spend in 6 months. Will do that in a month so nice Avios bonus 🙂

Same here, fairly happy as intending to keep the card anyway and still have a chunk of council tax to pay which will cover a lot the spend!
This was the 2nd time I asked, which might be worth noting, the first time I was offered a £50 credit for £15k spend which I politely declined.

Just a sneaky thought…. Has anyone earned their bonus and then downgraded anyway? My renewal is not until Feb and I have already hit spend target for companion voucher (benefits of paying for group bookings 🤣)

Nothing stops you downgrading after receiving the bonus. Make sure the bonus actually moves to your BAC account. And have another Amex to pay for the flight if using the voucher.
On the other hand, nothing stops Amex refusing your application next time you apply.I already have my companion voucher with 6 months left to go in my membership year. Also offered 12,000 for a £3,000 spend in 6 months. Took it.

As others have said above, on Friday was offered 12,000 for a £3,000 spend in 6 months. Just on the cusp of going into second year holding the card.

2nd year of card. Companion already triggered.On chat yesterday – offered & took 12k for £3k spend over 6 months. Perfect as other halfs 24 month break ends in November to restart the process.
My renewal comes up in two weeks. Also offered 12k Avios for £3k spend. Took it as would keep the card regardless.
