I am toying with booking with BA Holidays, having had a good previous experience with them (which is very much against my ‘no agents, ever!’ ethos). I want to book a trip to MIA, which results in me flying from one airport, meeting someone at LHR, and then both connecting there to MIA. Am I right in thinking that Holidays will often include the domestic connections at low to no cost?
Do I have to call for that, or does the website sort it out? I’m naturally skeptical of the latter, given BA IT…
You can easily build a holiday on the BA site. My brother and his family travelled three weeks ago. 4th July EDI-LHR, 5th July LGW-MCO, 12th July MCO-LGW, 15th July LHR-EDI, then add the hotel to the booking. It worked out as £650 per head which was a few £s less than travelling from Gatwick.
But
I’m not sure of a way to build a holiday online where one of the party has domestic starting point and the other is starting/finishing in London.

You can, but I think the point is: does it quote full fare for the domestic? If so, is the cheap trick via the Hols line? The Holidays IT is surprisingly good, most of the time. It’s one of the only competent parts of the operation.

Would need to be separate bookings.
@AL – I’m a regular use of the BA Hols search function and whilst it does have the odd off day it is actually very reliable!
As to the fare I have no idea how it prices it up.
Why not try a dummy booking with one starting in the region and the other at LHR?

It was marginally cheaper to price the journey online with the domestic legs than without.
But as always with BA IT, check, check and check again. There’s been an issue recently where the build my journey can only display the first 7 flights of the day – not ideal if you want an evening flight from EDI and overnight in London. Also anything I was trying from Glasgow was coming out at £1800 more than EDI for basic economy.
