Forums Hotel loyalty schemes World of Hyatt Club access at Hyatt?

I’ve nevee stayed at a Hyatt before but I’m looking at staying at the Hyatt or IC in Sofia 18th of March. Hyatt room with club access is showing up as a similar price as the IC (I’m only Platinum with IHG) but I just want to know if Club Access with Hyatt includes breakfast?

It wouldn’t include restaurant breakfast but it would include lounge breakfast.

I suggest you check whether the Regency Club at the Hyatt has opened. (It hadn’t when I stayed there as Globalist.)

The IC’s club is quite nice. Overall, I’d say the IC is the slightly nicer and posher hotel. Just in case you will be using the metro, its location is somewhat more convenient as well.

If you’re Globalist, I’d seriously consider the Hyatt (they’ll probably upgrade you to a Regency suite if booking a base room). Otherwise, the IC might be the better choice.

    Thanks to you both.

Is the lounge breakfast that comes with Club Access similar to the restaurant breakfast? The reason I ask is that I see that Hyatt have just introduced a new offer including free breakfasts for European bookings. I have an upcoming booking next month, which already includes lounge breakfast but was wondering whether it would be worthwhile asking them if they would be prepared to apply the new offer to my current booking. Many thanks.

More details needed to really comment. Do you have club access based on the booked room, a club access award or globalist status? We’d really need to know which hotel also and if you’re sure they do have a breakfast in the club lounge.

Some do great club lounge breakfasts that are likely to be more limited than the main restaurant breakfast but can at times include some higher quality elements, and usually it’s nicer to be in the relaxed lounge vs busy restaurant. Others have really limited lounge breakfasts which are better than no breakfast but not compatible to the main restaurant.

Is your rate cancellable and/or the same as the current rate which does include breakfast? I wouldn’t expect the hotel to add breakfast to your booking because there is an offer on now, but I guess no harm in giving it a go, and some of the European Hyatts are nice enough I could imagine they might just agree as a kind gesture.

    Thanks,

I have club access as staying in a suite.

    It’s the Hyatt Regency Cologne.

Yes, it is a rate than can be cancelled. The new rate, which includes breakfast, is slightly cheaper.

In this case, I would probably just rebook under the new rate and cancel the original in the app (in that order). I’ve done this before simply for rate changes on cancellable rates with Hyatt and no hotel has seemed to mind.

I find Flyertalk an amazing resource for reviews of specific Hyatt hotels. I quickly scanned the last few pages and there were mentions of the club lounge breakfast being limited but good. Many have said that restaurant breakfast was offered as a choice (instead of in the lounge), but I think they were all globalists and the same offer may not be made to those with club access by virtue of a suite booking.

Of course you could email to ask if even generally for those with club access restaurant breakfast is an option/choice without additional charge OR ask if they can add breakfast etc. For me though the easiest option is to book again and once done cancel the original.

    Many thanks Niall, much appreciated.
