Forums › Frequent flyer programs › British Airways Executive Club › Collecting avios … is the 25/50/100% bonus just for BA flights?
-
Was checking a JFk-MAD flight with AA here: https://www.britishairways.com/travel/flight-calculator/execclub/_gf/en_gb and noticed the Avios collected are the same regardless of BA status (Bronze/silver/gold). Is the extra avios for frequent fliers just a bonus you get when flying with BA?
(If you change the airline to BA it still shows the same amount of AVIOS no matter what status you chose)
The Avios calculator has been broken recently. Indeed our future bookings are currently not showing any tier bonus earnings on the amount we will earn.
AA does earn the Tier bonus Avios.
It used to be the case that you earned different amounts of Avios depending on whether you flew AA metal or AA flight no on BA metal but it no longer makes any difference – you do earn status tier bonuses on BA IB and AA flights though with the upcoming change to Avios earning on BA and the already implemented change on IB I guess there will be differences again.
