Creation – 4x hotel plus 4x foreign spend ?

Hi there,

Can’t remember this, but just traveled and paid at a couple of IHG hotels abroad. I’m seeing all my international spend come in as 4x points, but I’m seeing no 4x hotel points this month.

Do you only get the 4x international for the hotel stays I’ve paid for, or should I expect to also see an additional 4x for a hotel stay, as I would see in the UK ?

Not sure what you mean here? Is that the Creation IHG ‘Black’ card with an annual fee?

My ordinary IHG card only gives :
– 1 IHG One Rewards Club point for every £1 you spend in the UK
– 2 IHG One Rewards Club points for every £1 you spend at IHG Hotels & Resorts
– 2 IHG One Rewards Club points for every £1 you spend abroad

Also, you have never got extra points in the hotel reward scheme for stays you pay for on a branded card. Whether you earn more than base points in the hotel rewards scheme depends on (1) status and (2) if there is any kind of promo offer running at the time of stay/booking etc.

I’m no longer a card holder but on the Creation black card these offers never doubled up. Non GBP airfares on Amex Gold, do, however.

Yes, it’s the IHG Black card that I have. I guess the question was answered with the offers not doubling up. So, I get 4x points for abroad or 4x points at IHG hotels & Resorts, but not both.
