About to book a non cancelable stay, which I assume payment will before arrival. Anyone know if payment in this case stacks up for the IHG Amex spend/cash back offer?

When is the stay? IHG seem to not take payment until about a week before check in IME. I’m using the current offer this week on 2 bookings I made when the last offer was live but the hotel didn’t take payment before it expired. I thought I’d missed out but then the current offer appeared, extremely conveniently!
