Received £90 of refunded fees which was a nice surprise. However, Curve have also reissued my card as part of the legacy upgrade despite the fact that they only issued a renewal card 3 weeks ago! Clearly something not right with their processes.
New card coming for me too, ID verification to do too.
Unusual to see some vaguely positive comments about Curve. It’s usually moaners insisting Curve is certain to go bust imminently because an MS opportunity has been scaled back. Lots happening there with new investment by Samsung and Curve Pay maybe launching in the not too distant future.
@JDB Over the years I’ve found Curve 90% good and 10% meh. The £50 for what became legacy black was one of my better decisions, I’ve had issues and have found support to be slow but they’ve always resolved those issue. I’m now going to get 1% cashback at 6 places I already shop. I can’t understand how they make money, that’s probably why I drive sky buses as opposed to being in fintech!
@strickers – well Curve doesn’t make money (hoping maybe to break even this year), but then Uber made its first profit last year after operating for maybe 15 years, racking up tens of billions of losses in that time. Lots of tech & fintech run on hope for a long time before either making it or going bust. Like, you I have been a fairly happy customer since inception but have expressly avoided investing.
Just had over £150+ fees refunded as part of the move from legacy, had no idea I was being charged so much incorrectly. Don’t know whether to happy or annoyed!
Does anyone know where/how their refunded fees were incurred? It’s really confusing me how I missed £60 of excess fees. I don’t recall ever having paid curve fees, unless they were part of the exchange rate applied.
It’s a fair query although nothing in my Curve Cash 😕
Any issues with curve I recommend chasing their X support who actually respond especially for refunds
Had an email to ask me to confirm my address before they send the new card, the link just opens the app. Anyone in the same boat?

Yes, I think they want you to make sure your address in the app is up to date by Wednesday of this week, before they dispatch the card to that address on Thursday. If your address is correct then there is no action needed.
Well Curve Black just got a little more interesting, just had an email:
Much higher fee-free spending allowance abroad (see table below).
No more weekend FX fees in any currency.
£100K/year fee-free allowance on Curve Metal becomes £100K per month!
Coming Soon: 1% additional cashback on international spend outside the UK & Europe.
Curve Black monthly fee-free is £50k!
Hopefully it will play nice with my Avios Barclaycard on my upcoming trip, I thought the £20k a year target was going to be impossible but maybe not now.
Does it have a fronted allowance?
Black is £1000 a month for fronted. The changes are travel related.
No change to other terms, so Fronted remains at £3K Metal and £1K Black.
One gets the feeling that Curve are starting to backtrack more on recent changes. 🤔
Now they just need to bring back adding non-uk/eea cards and it’ll be perfect.
With the removal of the currency conversion fees Curve has finally got a use for me, essentially for the first time since the demise of Amex.
What can fronted actually be used for? I tried II and they gave me a 1% fee for ‘high risk merchant’. I thought Fronted was there for this exact reason?
No. Fronted is to use credit cards where they are not accept (e.g. paying HMRC). Nothing to do with the new 1% fee for high risk merchant. There is no way to not pay that fee.
Easy enough to avoid the new 1% fee, just avoid ‘high risk’ transactions! What you mean of course is no way to avoid it if Curve deem it applicable, and yes nothing to do with Fronted in that respect.
Can’t blame Curve for wanting a slice of the pie but I was quite happy with the level of risk in my eg ISA top ups.
