Good morning. Tried to buy a gift card in US$ using my curve card last night. transaction did not go through as it would only allow me to put a US postcode in so came up with error AVS MISMATCH. However my curve card ( backed by Hsbc credit card ) suggests the payment has been taken.
if this has happened to anyone before please would you let me know if the payment would just be credited back in due course or perhaps appear as curve cash? Can’t seem to find contact option for the company. Thanks so much in advance fir your help.wait a few days to see if hsbc clears the payment
good luck trying to contact curve customer services and get an outcomeThe charge will just fall off in the next couple of days and not get claimed. I personally have never had an issue with Crurve support and would not be in the least bit worried at this stage
I had something sort of similar with a pre-Auth whilst overseas. The actual pre-auth did not go to the merchant but Curve charged the underlying card anyway (It’s their process that is at fault).
I contacted Curve via via the App
Account-> Help Centre->Chat
And their response was quick-less than a couple of hours.
It was explained that the App shows reversed transactions as successful (it’s a bug) and their process is that once they receive a transaction it is charged to the card. The merchant then has 14 days to claim the funds.
Eventually the underlying card reversed the charge as the merchant did not claim the funds.
Crazy way to do things IMHO but at least I got an explanation as to what was happening
I’ve had trouble with Curve not replying to enquiries, but never about charges. On those they come back very quickly and never had any issue with them solving the matters.

Did you use the standard conversion formula for UK Postcode to ZIP Code?
Take you home postcode, remove all the non-numeric characters, then suffix with zeros. So if your Postcode was EH1 1YZ, your Zip code is 11000
