Instead of calling BA “chancers” have you actually called them to ask?

It’s your first post, so welcome. People here are generally most willing to help with all sorts of questions, but you haven’t given a whole lot of info. What you have experienced isn’t that unusual currently. I take it the delayed luggage was on an outbound flight, not one returning home and that the claim was reasonable. Sometimes these cases are automatically closed because BA’s system sees them as being invalid or outside normal parameters.

It’s possible that BA’s closure may be sufficient to claim on insurance. Otherwise you need to get back in touch with BA but it’s best not to open a new case (and the system may prevent this anyway).

Had a holiday bag delayed SIX days (on a 7 day holiday). Managed to claim around £700 for 3 people, basically clothes and toiletries (and a new £250 case as when it turned up it was broken). Settled immediately.

I would call and ask why it was closed. Obviously the expense has to be reasonable, and if it’s on the return there’s probably not a lot of compensation due.
