Does AMEX Platinum car rental insurance cover Zipcar?

This question has come up about 20 times over the years and I have never seen a satisfactory answer, unfortunately.

Even asking the Amex call centre is unlikely to lead to much certainty because they generally just make things up as they go along.

I keep waiting until I ding one, at which point I would be trying to claim on my Plat and we could get a definite answer!

I had a response from Axa a year ago that as long there is a car rental agreement it will be fine. Have not had a reason to test it so dont know definitely.

how about renting a van to move some of our furniture?

I presume it’s okay as long as the vehicle is not being used for commercial purposes.

In this instance, the question is whether it’s a commercial vehicle (excluded) rather than a vehicle being used or not used for commercial purposes.
