    Staying in San Candido, will have car.

    Flying into and out of Innsbruck, I hear the lounge there has great views

    We did what we always do – fire up AllTrails and plug in our preferences. Without you saying what your parameters are, you won’t get good hiking recommendations. OH has dodgy knees and AllTrails profile view helps a lot in judging difficulty for her.

    If you do put trust in AllTrails, buy a short subscription so you can download the maps.

    Love the Dolomites. Fantastic place to cycle, ski, hike, or just hang out.

    Never been to San Candido, but my advice would be to avoid the ‘best’ attractions. The hikesa and restaurants that you find on your hotel’s doorstep will be more than adequate, and anything well known will inevitably disappoint due to trevellong time and crowds.

    There is no such thing as a bad mountain walk.

    You’ll have a great time. We were in Sesto (so just down the road from San Candido) in July and it was beautiful.

    Here’s a link to the local tourist walking map for the area which might give you some inspiration.

    We were limited in what we could tackle as we have 2 young kids but did really like the Val Fiscalina hike (which has a nice mountain hut at the end).

    Thanks all, much appreciated.

    @calum
    the leaflet is great. The hikes times given are just round trips, up and back down?

    No I think the times are for one way.
