Forums Payment cards American Express Downgrading from a British Airways Premium Plus Amex card

  • 52 posts

I signed up to the BAPP (from an Amex Platinum Cashback card) in November and have exceeded the 10k spend earlier than anticipated. Once I receive the companion voucher, and downgrade to the free BA card, does the annual cycle start again for spenditure? Or does it not start again until November 2023 – the anniversary of me taking out the BAPP card?

You can earn only one voucher per year, so Nov 2023 is when the counter would reset.

This is one of those topics we need a FAQs section for, as @davefl suggested in the daily chat!

My Mum had four boys, so rather than put up with endless silly questions (and to preserve her sanity) she talked to us like adults and encouraged us to find out all the minor things for ourselves. Might sound harsh but actually very empowering and a good life lesson for children and adults.

The chat could seriously benefit from a reduced level of (repeat) questions that suggest no engagement with the site and that they haven’t even read the basic headlines about the miles/points products they have signed up for, or even tried to look up the answer before asking nanny (aka kind readers) for help.

    Harsh but fair!

Mrs Froggee only has two boys (three if you count me) and would take endless questions any day of the week compared to the endless farting.

At dinner the boys sometimes play fart tennis across the table which we’ve tried to explain should not be done in polite company to no avail. It probably doesn’t help that the latent alpha in me sometimes feels compelled to show them what a real fart sounds like.

    Sorry – too much information.

    November 2023.

Sorry for asking a question, will make sure I waste hours upon hours reading every single thread and all terms & conditions before raising my hand with a question on the forum in future.

You must be a blast at parties!

Thanks to the user for replying with the answer I needed within 10 minutes : )

And that, sadly, is what you get if you lay it on the line.
