Perhaps worth saying what you’re looking for in order to say what’s “better”

I’ve stayed at the W. Great breakfast spread, good pool adult and family pools but I noticed a beach club was under construction towards the end of the family one.

A few great restaurants including rooftop bar but personally I don’t understand why you’d stay here with kids.

Hi Thanks for advice I was swaying to the W .. not staying with kids .. was it expensive getting to other places from the W .. if wishing to go to DXB mall etc do you have to cab it or ?

Only real way on and off the palm is by cab no where in Dubai is really walking distance, you’d be taking a cab to either the nearest metro (there is a monorail but it’s not convenient for pretty much any hotel unless you like long walks) or directly to the destination. Cabs are relatively cheap I paid about 100 AED in a DTC cab from the airport to W which is about 25 miles.

The Fairmont is on west beach palm which is walkable up and down the beachfront. It’s also home to a decent Indian called little miss India

Lots of hotels and therefore eateries/bars starting at Five palm then Hilton, Marriott etc on this stretch of beach.

Beach clubs/bars/restaurants like San and Ula too if you like that sort of thing. I had a great lunch at Ristorante Loren but about £80 a head.

Aura 360 skypool is on the palm and actually pretty good on a clear day.
