Forums Hotel loyalty schemes IHG One Rewards Earning points on Six Senses F&B booked through IHG

Just wondering if I am entitled to points on € spent on F&B at Six Senses Duoro Valley on a points stay. I booked during the intern rate on IHG. I have completed the stay and had some spending on F&B, spa etc. Should I receive points on the incidentals spending? They seem to have had an issue as I booked 3 nights and OH booked next 2 nights. All spend was paid at the end of the stay….we both got credited with all the nights – a bit odd.

Fairly certain there are no points for F&B on reward stays? The only way around it is to book a paid stay for the last night and roll the bill into this.

That’s a shame as its not a cheap stay for F&B….

I got points, but as a goodwill gesture of 10k from Amb desk. They initially offered 3k, but somebody here mentioned that they got 10k. I went back and argued that given that I could book on points, I should also be able to get points on F&B spend plus casually mentioned that I read others got more. They said they are not participating in IHG Rewards, but as a one-off they are willing to increase it to 10k.

I got 25k points when I asked. Under my account as “Loyalty GoodWill points”.

At Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives last month we got points on all reward night F&B spend (67k altogether at the Spire rate of 20 points per $1) on our one week stay but not sure that’s a Six Senses standard. I couldn’t quite reconcile it with our spend but it was close enough to all the food and drinks, less their 22% service fee and taxes. As like you I wasn’t expecting anything at all I was pleasantly surprised – These points are now going towards a ten-night reward stay back there that we are planning to do in March 2023 🙂

This is because Maldives property is fully participating. SSDV is not and you can’t book it at all on points anymore. It was a one-off thing.

Thanks for explaining @Meta – shame to hear because I had been hoping to do SSDV sometime but good to not be pinning my hopes and efforts on something that is not possible!

I got nothing for my F&B spend at SSDV, despite emailing them. Clearly IHG Amb team not as keen to keep me happy as Meta/BP!

I have been given points for f&b at 10 points per dollar at SSDV. They are stating that as Spire f&B charges are not eligible for the additional spire 10 points per dollar. There was also a double points promotion running until the end of March 2022, f&b not eligible for that either. For regular IHG stays (I understand SSDV is different) should f&b get spire 10 points per dollar and bonus double points?
