With the major hotel chains once again offering cash back offers across both mine and my partner’s cards we were looking at booking some holidays to make use of these offers.
However, as we had plans already for holidays this year I was wondering if anyone had experience/tips on using these offers on future stays beyond the offer expiry date? Are any of the chains (Marriott / Hilton / Hyatt / IHG) more/less difficult to redeem offers with? Would booking ‘non-refundable, pay-now’ room trigger the offer or are we better off calling the hotel directly and explaining the situation? Could Emyr be of any help?
Thanks!
I have used these offers numerous times on pre-paid rates at Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt hotels and they’ve always triggered the cash back.
IHG is a bit less predictable, it seems to depend on the property.
Emyr’s rates are pay on checkout, however you could always contact the hotel directly and ask them to charge your card. The complication then might be that if you did need to cancel, you might have to do a bit of chasing to get a refund.
Hi – I am hoping to do just that, Emyr + a Hilton and/or Hyatt stay while phoning to request they charge my card now to trigger the offers. I will report back if it works (probably unlikely) but if anyone has tried this before please do share!!
