I received my companion voucher when I was at the end of my cancer treatment (Jan this year) but I haven’t been able to use it as I’ve not had the energy for a long haul flight. Any advice on how to ask BA to extend it?
I haven’t been receiving active treatment since the voucher was issued so don’t have documented evidence of that but I’ve been so tired! HOwever I am much better now and would like to book for next summer, but the viucher will have expired by then.
I read previously of an email to the CEO in similar circumstances working, so you could try that route? I wish I had a specific contact for you other than Seanl.Doyle@ba.com

So sorry to read this but glad you’re feeling better and well enough to consider travelling again. BA are usually quite generous with illness but I believe you have to tell them at the time rather than after the event.
There’s no harm in asking but expect a negative answer.
Is your voucher one for economy only? I ask because the BAPP voucher is valid for a flight departing up to two years from date of issue. Therefore you would have until Jan 2025 to use it. The economy voucher is of course only valid for 1 year
The only way you will know is by calling them. They are pretty good at helping when there are sudden requirements to change plans due to medical issues, but given this would be post event, as @AJA stated no harm in asking.
Don’t worry about documentation, there will be some record in the NHS that can be utilised – perhaps even your chemo card or discharge summary, but BA will let you know what they require.
