Extending companion voucher expiry date

I know ba do not usually extend the companion voucher. However I am likely needing to cancel a 241 booking due to a family member with a terminal illness. The expiry of the voucher was just a few days after my planned flight…do you think they will extend the expiry date of the voucher or will i just lose it or will it depend on the call handler when i phone?

Sorry to hear this – someone did post recently about a similar issue and BA were quite helpful so it’s worth calling and explaining the situation.
