Fees+charges departing GRU

Looking at making a one-way redemption GRU-LHR – on the booking page it quotes £8.50 in fees and charges but on clicking through this increases to £288. Any idea why, or how to work around this?

Someone had this same problem the other day – they called BA and after some arguing over Brazilian charges, got them to book it at the (much) lower rate. You might need to HUACA, depending on the amenability of the agent you get!

Call up and they can book it with the right amount of taxes – or book on Avios.com.

Excellent. Someone needs to start a list of these helpful agents as I never get them, at least not until my second attempt at the earliest!

No, BA told me they wouldn’t do this

That’s because any 241 bookings have to be booked via BA, either online or by phone.
