Have some economy flights with my 6yo son on CX and wondering where to credit them. They earn 50% avios in AY and QR and only 25% in BA and IB. I don’t think asia miles is useful to us.
The flights would earn enough tier points/Qpoints for OW ruby with both finnair and qatar, however qatar appears to need 4 qualifying flights and finnair doesn’t.
Avios in AY child accounts aren’t transferrable to BA, so it looks like they can only be used to redeem for the child in the AY program. Not sure how this works when they have to travel with parents??
I’m not clear about whether avios from qatar family accounts can be sent to BA, however at least they could be used to redeem from the QR program (topping up from BA if needed).
I would prefer to earn in AY myself. Can I credit my own flights to AY while crediting my son’s to QR (via my own QR account)?
