I should know this, but don’t. So then I could guess (Virgin?) but I’d like certainty. Can someone more knowledgeable confirm please….
I booked a flight Zagreb to LCY via AMS. I may be >3 hours late into LCY. A bit quick off the mark, but it’s sparked my interest. If I need to claim, who do I claim from? I assume it must be the airline who issued the ticket (Virgin). Right?
Also, if they (KLM here I guess) route me via another London airport, I can add in the time taken to transfer to LCY when determining if the 3 hour rule is broken I think. Again, is that right?
Finally, can I refuse a (say) LHR flight (as that’s a real pain) and require them to pay for food / accommodation in AMS for a night as no later LCY flight? I’d quite fancy that – and I really do live nearby LCY..!
Thanks…
You need to claim from KLM. It’s the point you arrive back at London (any airport). You can however claim transport back to LCY
My opinion is by the book if you refuse a flight back to the same city then they’re off the hook to look after you. In reality I don’t think their systems are sophisticated enough to know you turned down a different option, unless the agent notes it on your booking. I wouldn’t spend on a hotel that I wasn’t willing to end up paying for myself in that scenario
