Forums Payment cards American Express Fully.com height adjustable desks (spend £750 get £150 back) – any experience?

Has anyone had any experience of ‘fully’ (fully.com) height adjustable desks?
How good is the finish quality, etc?

I have the above offer (spend £750, get £150 back) on my Bonvoy Amex, expiring at the end of the month.

    Considering whether to buy.

I got a Fully Jarvis last year and I really love it. I also got the dual monitor arm (plus a laptop tray) which is pretty nice. It’s a great, sturdy setup.

I recommend paying £20 extra for the programmable control unit, as the presets are really handy when switching between sit and stand during the day.

Happy to answer any questions on the desk. My husband was thinking about getting one too, so I’m tempted to encourage that while the Amex offer is running.

    @dst87 – thanks!

What top material did you go for?
Also, how would you rate the finish quality of the metal base? Will it scuff easily.

Those seem similar to what I have: https://flexispot.co.uk/desk/height-adjustable-desks/adjustable-standing-desk-pro-series.html

I actually just bought the frame and then bought an oak kitchen worktop from another source, cut to my specifications. The frame is so solid and sturdy, I am really pleased with it. The coating is proving to be robust, still unmarked after 18months. Not that it obviously works with your offer, but possibly worth looking at, just as a comparison.

Totally agree with getting the programmable control unit.

I went for natural bamboo with the curved front.

I went for the white legs, and I haven’t scuffed them yet. It seems like it’d be durable, but having had it for less than a year only time will tell.

I did look at a number of online reviews and the Fully Jarvis seemed to be consistently well-regarded. There are some others available only in the US that might have the edge, but you can’t get them here.

Whatever desk you go for I recommend some sort of padded standing desk mat. I got the Topo mat (which is sold by Fully) and I’m really happy with it. It’s pricy, but it’s miles ahead of the standard flat rectangle that my husband has right now.

    Footwear is important too!

When we experimented with standing desks at my old office, I had to invest in a pair of Dr Martens. I really liked the standing desks, but if I didn’t wear good sturdy shoes standing all day the pain was incredible after a few days.

That’s interesting. Because I’m working from home I don’t tend to wear shoes while working at all. Perhaps I need to invest in a pair of firm-soled shoes just for use in the house? 🤔

This is a great offer and I’m sad to say that I bought my Fully Jarvis desk a couple of months before Amex rolled out this offer.

I have the L-shaped desk and it is excellent. +1 for the programmable unit, also the caster wheels are useful for times I need to shift the desk around a bit.

As a top tip, I got 5% off my desk just for signing up to Fully’s newsletter and getting the promotional code they sent me. On a £1200 desk that ended up being a £60 discount!

I bought a Flexispot one from Amazon for £200 and a desk top from IKEA and it’s been flawless for the last year or so. With monitor arms and PC cradle I bet I spent about £270 so it seems rather a lot of money to get some cash back.

I would have thought your preference would have been Crockett & Jones, or perhaps Edward Green.

Think @dst87 has provided sufficient feedback about fully.com desks. I got mine end of last year and agree with his sentiment(and I’m pretty sure I got the exact same specs he has…).

There was some 10% discount codes floating in the voucher websites when I purchased my desk, so worth googling for that when making the purchase. However more importantly, my Amex offer didn’t trigger automatically when I made my purchase. You may need to chase Amex for this, but I did eventually get my credit a month after the original purchase after some phone calls.

If the Amex offer is still on, I would buy one too.

However, it was the one I was looking for, as I have been choosing a desk for my office for the past two months. I read the specs very carefully and seemed to find what I needed. I thought the desk should be rectangular and straightforward, with no “pockets” and Ikea wire holders. But on eurekaergonomic.com, I came across a transformer table that looks like a desk, but its height is adjustable by a mechanism. Sometimes I step on the treadmill and get bored. Thought I could combine working at my laptop and walking. But I wonder if the desk will wobble if you lean on it and walk, or if you have to stand next to it?
