looks like multi use, you top up £100 it shows you how much you will get and then you use your balance to buy GC

only issue with £ converted to ^£ which I’m worried that right now it’s 1:1 but in the future can change to something 1:2 etc.
anyway, they’re burning money.. especially when there’s no limits

    Seems legit to me.
Looking through the history of it, one of the Directors was once COO of Skyscanner … https://uk.linkedin.com/in/mark-logan-b945806
It hit the rocks due to the pandemic and has been fired up again.

    From Swipii website:
Unfortunately Swipii could not survive the pandemic and fell into liquidation in 2021. Recognising its value, the brand was purchased by Vow Currency. Vow’s UK technology partner Enigmatic Smile is undisputedly one of the pioneers of card-linking-technology in the UK, and having completely re-vamped Swipii’s entire tech stack, Swipii is now ready to thrive again.

So that’s my point.. Swipii before 2021 may have been legit but now it’s questionable.

I have downloaded the app but I can’t find that promotion, would you mind explaining how to get it? Thanks!

    It’s very hidden.
Click on Balance, then Buy, and add however much you want (I just used £90 as an example, essentially they add around 11% to whatever you top up – the equivalent of a 10% discount).

Then go to the Merchants section and buy a gift card. Ignore the stated percentages, as they’ll let you use your balance (with the bonus already added) to buy.

I’ve never had a problem, but I wouldn’t usually leave a balance in the account. I top up and then buy whichever gift card I needed (if it’s Amazon, I add it straight to my Amazon balance).

If you want to get a feel for things, try it topping up with £10 or so.

Apologies if I sound a bit behind on this,

Looking to purchase a large GC through Swipii – So the amount e.g. £50 will that go into my balance, I will then exchange the balance to other GC that is being offered at a further discounted rate?

currently an amazon purchase is tracking at 2%

    Not quite.

If you ‘deposit’ £50 to buy “virtual £’s” through the Balance-Buy screen you will end up with £55.50 (of virtual £’s).
You can then simply buy a gift card from Amazon, or elsewhere, for £55.50 using your virtual £ balance. You won’t get any % cashback on that purchase though (as you have already had an 11% bonus added to your deposit).
That way you are getting a voucher for £55.50 but only paying £50.00 for it.

Is it just me or there are limits on Swipee? I bought £10, then £100 using one card and cannot buy anything else with it.. tried another card £10, £100.. and then it’s letting me again?

Not a stack but as mentioned on another thread Virgin Money are offering 10% cash back for spends over £30 at Morrisons. Can still use Morissons gift cards for fuel in their petrol stations as I did it today.

So Swipii did work for me fine, although it also feels very dodgy! 🙂

Late response but yes you can use voucher in Morrisons/petro/instore. I got 5% work perks and I get Morrisons voucher then Amazon, extra 1% with curve or 1.5 with bapp/Barclays.

Ok Swipii at least for me looks dead, a friend of mine actually lost there some money so I’ll stay away.
Has anyone used CompleteSavings? Played carefully looks quite promising.

How does Swipii look dead and how did your friend lose money due to it?

CompleteSavings can be good but make sure you start your account with Ebay or Trainline and *remember* to submit your £15 refund every month (by buying something on your starting site) or they will keep making you pay that £15 and you will lose money. The other main issue I have with CompSave is that the One4All cards are very restrictive on where you can spend at but when you can spend them, 20% off is quite good.

Balance tab looks empty, when I click on any merchant it throws errors etc.
He topped up £50, was unable to buy anything, sent money back to his account – never received.

Ok, that’s what I was planning on doing.
Apart from One4All – any other GC cards there with 20% off? Is the monthly limit of £100?

    131 posts

Argos, New Look, River Island and One4all are the ones with 20% off.

You can purchase £100 worth of the 20% discounted gift cards per calendar month.

Same issue topped up and had a balance and couldn’t redeem it against anything many error messages – decided to transfer the funds back and have not seen the balance deposited back into my nominated account. Numerous emails have been submitted and they have said their technical team is looking into it. Looks like I will have to take this L unless they can transfer my money back.

When did that happen? I used on June 15th for the last time without issues. I have redeemed £500 between tesco and amazon GCs in the last.
I’ll be careful next time… probably try a very small amount (like £10) to check if working properly before sending any more money.
It was a good deal 11%+being able to pay with Amex…

This is the thing, it happened to him early in June, I have since redeemed Amazon £100 but since the weekend the app is unusable to me, anything I click throws errors, the Balance tab is empty (loads blank).
Is it just my issue or they closed the business? Not that I want to push my luck any further 😀
