Gold 30,000 points offer and refer a friend?

I’m looking at getting the Gold AMEX card which a friend has recommended. Currently there is a 30,000 points offer if you spend £3000 within 3 months.

Amex also has refer a friend scheme. If my friend recommends me, will I be eligible for both points?

If your friend recommends you then they get the refer a friend bonus, typically 9K.

However you _may_ find that you get a better offer yourself via their referral link – I currently have a 40K offer waiting for me using that route.
