Hello all
A couple of days ago, I applied and was accepted for the Gold card.
I’ve checked the app, but no sign on the card whatsoever on there at all as of yet, does anyone know how long this’ll usually take ?
I’ve already got the free MR card and BA Blue (I’ll be cancelling the latter probably today), does anyone have past experiences of Amex giving sign up bonuses by mistake, I’m ineligible although I’m not sure how robust their systems are at looking your history of cards with them ?
I’d clearly like the bonus if I can get it, but if it doesn’t come through, then oh well !
The card won’t appear on your app until you add it yourself it to the app. You can do this when the card arrives.
Very, very unlikely you’ll get a welcome bonus with the Gold card as you already have a MR card. It’s not unheard of but Amex sign-up systems are good at picking up those not eligible.
If you’ve applied with all the same details as for your other cards, you won’t get a sign up bonus on the gold, though I think this would be due to you having the free BA card.
If you register it under a fresh Amex account (but you’ll then have 2 separate accounts) then you might get away with it. Depends what you declared on the application form in terms of other cards.
I got a bonus when I got Business Platinum which I was not entitled to.
