A GUF2 voucher isn’t some secret hack.
It’s earned via 2,500 TPs and mentioned on the BA website. There is even a tracker for it in your BAEC account that appears once you’ve passed the 1,500 Gold threshold.
It’s a reasonable question to ask if you’ve never had one before.
A GUF2 can also be turned into 2 x GUF1s by calling BA.
Given you need 2,500 TPs to earn one not many people actually have them so they don’t get talked about much.

Now that is a good value added comment, never seen that mentioned before, probably because as you say GUF vouchers don’t often come up (and apologies I’ve hit the inconveniently placed report button!).
While I agree there’s nothing secret about the vouchers in general, I think the original question is rather strange. If you’re going to use a voucher, why would it matter when it disappears from your account? The suggestion may be that a voucher that has been used is still visible.
The best thing about Gold upgrade vouchers is that you can upgrade bookings where there is no avios availability in the higher class but there is cash availability ( in certain fare buckets). In certain hard to book cash routes this makes them truly gold.
