So I have a cash fare in business for two people which will cost £2,274.96 for both of us.
I can use our reward voucher and it will cost us 51,500 Avios and £2.
Is this a good use of our voucher?
Also I can boost my avios by 171,500 for £1,1439 and I am wondering if this is also a good deal. When I go to look at buying 175,000 it’s currently > £3k so potentially half price.
Thankyou
We normally say 1p per Avios is fair value so on that basis you have a good deal, assuming you consider the cash cost to be reasonable.
With the Boost, the value is really in your confidence for getting outsize value next time you redeem.
If you redeem the reward you can also cancel it and get all your avios refunded for only £2 if need be; your revenue flight probably comes with much less favourable conditions.
Your buying avios at 0.84p which is unheard of, this is the last month with a 10% bonus. Even when BA had 75% bonus when buying avios that was at 0.92p. like Rob said if your confident of beating more than 1p per Avios on redemptions (biz class) then all is good.
